Hull & Barnsley Railway Stock Fund

Founded in 1968, the Hull & Barnsley Railway Stock Fund maintains the surviving examples of rolling stock of the former Hull & Barnsley Railway Company.

Our two coaches, two wagons and a tool van are located at Goathland on the North York Moors Railway. Working parties are arranged to help with restoration. The last Hull & Barnsley Railway locomotive was scrapped by British Railways in 1956, and only rolling stock now remains.

The Stock Fund posesses a varied collection of photographs of the line from 1885 to present day. We wish to locate artifacts and ephemera of the Hull & Barnsley Railway to add to our knowledge of the line and its operation, and make this information available to students of railway history. If you can help, please get in touch!

Seat covering opportunity

Railway upholstery

In July 2008 the Hull & Barnsley Railway Stock Fund began investigating options for commissioning new moquette for use in the restoration of our coaches. However the minimum order size is more than we would need for our own two coaches. Would any other carriage groups be interested in working with us on this project?
